Prof. Dr. Güner DAĞLI

Born in Altınova, Ayvalık in 1961, Prof. Dağlı attended 14 Eylül Primary School, Bandırma Şehit Süleyman Bey State Boarding School, and Kuleli Military High School. He started his medical training at İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical School, and finally graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA). After working for a year in Sarıkamış he began his specialty training in anaesthesiology and reanimation back at GATA. He worked as a specialist for a year at Gümüşsuyu Military Hospital and then in 1992 he was appointed assistant professor of anaesthesiology and reanimation at GATA.

Prof. Dağlı became associate professor in 1997, a full professor in 2003, and in 2004 he was appointed Chief of Service for Anaesthesiology and Reanimation at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital. He became a member of the High Council for Science in 2012, a role which lasted 18 months. He remains Chair of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation at SANKO University and is also a qualified specialist in algology (pain) and intensive care. Prof. Dağlı is married and has two children.

Prof. Dr. Can Polat EYİGÜN

Born in Çifteler, Eskişehir in 1960, Prof. Eyigün completed his secondary education at Yunus Emre Teacher Training School. He started his medical training in 1978 at Ankara University Medical School and, after an internship in 1983 at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA), he graduated in 1984. After completing his military duties as a general practitioner in Eskişehir, he started his specialty training in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology at GATA. He qualified in 1993, became associate professor in 1995, and a full professor in 2003.

From 1996 to 1997 he worked with Prof. David H. Van Thiel in the Chronic Hepatitis and Liver Transplant Center at the University of Kentucky, Lexington.

In 2005 Prof. Eyigün was appointed Chair of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at GATA, a post which he held until August 2014 when he retired. In October 2014 he joined the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at SANKO University Medical School. Married, with one son, Prof. Eyigün has a good command of English.
