Dean's Message

Dear Incoming Students and Esteemed Visitors,

Health and disease are multidimensional concepts. The education and training of health professionals who will look at humans and human health from different perspectives and serve in this sacred direction are crucial in order to provide quality health services.

At SANKO University Faculty of Health Sciences, which started training with the start of Sanko University in 2014-2015 academic year therefore experiencing its third year, we have three departments, each of which focuses on different aspects of human health. They are Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Nursing.

In each and every one of department, students are taught both theoretical and practical aspects of their future professions. In our educational program, there are vocational courses as well as courses in basic sciences and social sciences.

As the first principle, "First, do no harm" by Hippocrates has been adopted during the professional skills training of students. In line with this principle, in order to improve their professional skills students practice on life-size dummies as well as via simulators in skill laboratories before they proceed with their internships in the hospitals. The implementation of vocational practices and courses is carried out at hospitals, other public or private institutions under the supervision of trainers.

In 2017-2018 academic year, we are thrilled to have our first graduates. They are expected to be the part of the young and dynamic labor force who have room for continuous professional development, and carry out patient-centered practices in their respective fields.

Our graduates may carry on with their studies at graduate levels, both master’s and doctorate degrees. They can also continue their academic careers and become associate professors and professors. At SANKO University Health Sciences Institute, we have established the first step of graduate education program; Master of Science (MSc.) in Nursing Department. Therefore, our students have the chance to further their academic studies. What’s ever better is that as of now many of them are seizing this opportunity and improving themselves with the guidance of our faculty. At the same time, we are also planning to found a PhD program in the near future. I wish success to our students in their academic journeys.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Board of Trustees of SANKO University, the Rector, the executives, the faculty and the administrative staff of our faculty, who supported us in our academic journey.

All the best,

Prof. Dr. Türkan PASİNLİOĞLU
